Monster Curry - 30May2016

Jurong Point opened a new restaurant - Monster Curry not long ago, selling Japanese Curry rice. I decided to try the food. I ordered the cheapest 9SGD plain homemade curry rice with dry onions. 

It was an expensive meal because the plain curry rice did not contain any potatoes or big pieces of fried onions. The only thing I liked was the rich curry sauce. It went well with rice. 

I also ordered the ice matcha drink to go with the curry rice. The color of the drink was pleasing to the eyes and the drink helped to ease the spicy taste of curry in my mouth...

Trivelis - 28May2016

A close ex-colleague invited me to her new DBSS flat in clementi. I have not seen her and a few other colleagues for about 2 years. It was good to see them again. 

The house was compact but beautifully designed. The view from 38 floor was spectacular. We had some pies, pastries, grapes and strawberries.

My friend's boy loved strawberries very much. It was entertaining to see him eat strawberries one after another.

Chinatown dessert - 21May2016

It was Vesak day. We took a train from Boon Lay station to Chinatown station. We went to the 佛牙寺temple to pray. There were many people queuing to get blessings from the monks. 

We had lunch at a small restaurant along smith street. After lunch, we walked into some shops. 

Last eating stop was a dessert shop. The shop was crowded with people and the service staff was helpful to find empty seats for us. We ordered corn snow ice and steamed ginger egg pudding. The egg pudding was yummy but the snow ice was not that good. Total price we paid was 9SGD. Nowadays, food in Singapore is so expensive. 

MK restaurant - 26March2016

MK restaurants originate from Thailand. MK specializes in steamboat and their restaurants have their famous suki sauce for dipping.

It was a warm Saturday afternoon, we decided to patronize MK restaurant at Westgate. We ordered the duo soup - kimchi and original soup at 29.90SGD with mixed supreme ingredients. 

The food was better and cheaper than IMM - hai-di-Lao. We spent 40 plus and we had a satisfying meal. I loved the suki sauce dip. 

Ah boy was not very interested in steamboat but he finished his rice. 

Garden by the bay - 19March2016

It's been a while since I last visited Garden by the bay. I decided to visit it on my birthday. The news had reported that cherry blossom was at flower dome. 

However, the queue was extremely long. Many people were at garden by the bay. Flower dome was packed with people at the cherry blossom display area. I was disappointed not able to see the cherry blossoms close-up. 

The cloud forest was as usual, there were not many changes. We felt that it was expensive to pay 20SGD per adult for 2 domes. Next time I might just go for flower dome since the flower dome would change its theme. 

I took some photos of the pretty flowers at the flower dome. They smelled nice too. I loved their vibrant colors.

This was an interesting statue depicting a family visiting garden by the bay. However, I found it a bit scary with their half bodies missing. 

I managed to take one close up photo of the cherry blossom. 

I loved this big rose.

Look closely. It was made of Lego bricks. I thought I was in Legoland.

The weather was extremely hot outside the dome. It was about 33 degrees. We were sweating when we walked to the bridge linking to marina bay sands.

Jurong Bird Park - 16March2016

Ah boy and I decided to go for our second visit to Jurong Bird Park. We had bought 1 year unlimited access entry on 11June2015. The unlimited access will end on 11June2016. 

This visit we timed our schedule to see 10.30am penguin feeding and the 11am bird show. Ah boy was disappointed there was no more fish available for penguin feeding. 

His sadness went away when the 11am bird show started. Having watched the bird show a couple of times, it was not a bit bored at all to watch it again.

I took a selfie of myself and one with ah boy.

I loved the flamingoes who came out at the end of the show. They walked in circles and were joined by parrots that munched on the bird food.

We bought the tram tickets and took the tram to waterfall aviary. We saw a parrot, a peacock and some other big birds there. Ah boy didn't like the waterfall but he liked the parrot which said 'hello' near the cafe area. The parrot attracted people to look at it.

Lastly, we visited the night owls at the owl area before we left for home. 

On our way out, we saw a big chameleon with a long tail. 

Swenson IMM breakfast - 12Mar2016

Ah boy wanted to try Swenson breakfast on a Saturday at IMM. 

I ordered pancake with sausage for myself. The breakfast sets were not cheap. It cost over 10 plus. 

Ah boy said he liked the sausages. It was a new experience for him.
