Today I tried the dessert at Monster Curry with 3SGD off from every order of curry meal. I ordered toasted bread with ice cream and honey mixed berries. Quite sweet. Original price was 10.80SGD.

There was a cute pompompurin Cafe at Orchard Central and I happened to eat lunch there on a Saturday afternoon.

The food was average but the cuteness was great. I liked the pompompurin yellow rice. The drinks were very expensive costing about 6SGD plus. It was a good dining experience there and ah boy loved it there. Oh..I found a hair while I was half way eating the hamburger pompompurin meal..

JCube Ice Rink - 18Nov2016

18Nov2016 was the last day promotion for ActiveSG members to go to the Rink at promotion price of 7SGD for 2 hours session.

When we arrived there around 11 plus in the morning, we were told the promotional tickets were fully redeemed. To avoid disappointment, I bought the tickets at original price of 15.50SGD (inclusive of skate boots rental). I paid 3.50SGD for a ticket on gallery view.

The Rink was a good size. There were many people, especially young children and teenagers enjoying themselves on the Rink. Ah boy tried on skating firstly with the penguin aid. He later progressed to skating on his own without the aid. It was fun for him. He ended his session at 2.30pm and I was shivering in cold, with the cold wind blowing at me for about 2 hours.

Mahota @ Kitchener complex - 5Nov2016

Mahota in Singapore is an interesting concept of organics food products. There is a supermart and restaurant under Mahota at Kitchener Complex near Lavender Station.

I visited Mahota with my two good friends.

We ordered hotpot, seafood pizza and seafood pasta. I liked the seafood pizza. The seafood was fresh and the crust was thin but the edges of the crust were slightly burnt so the pizza tasted a bit bitter when eaten with the burnt crust. We chose tomato base for our hotpot. The soup was not very flavorful and I had to complement with it with the sauces they provide.

The restaurant had a good ambience, filled with green plants. The staff was attentive however the price was a bit on the high side. Perhaps, the food was organics so I did not feel guilty eating a lot.

I might return to this restaurant again in the future.

AEIOU cafe - 5Nov2016

After lunch at Mahota, we headed to AEIOU cafe near King's George.

A unique name for a cafe. From the outside of the cafe, you could see a tree hanging with empty milk bottles. There were some Halloween-related hand-drawn images on the bottles. It was quite interesting.

Inside the cafe, the front ceiling was high. There was a featured wall with live plants. It was a cosy ambience. However, the cakes and drinks were not cheap. One piece of green tea white chocolate cake cost 9SGD and a cup of hot green tea latte cost 6.50SGD. It was pricier than Starbucks or coffeebean. Maybe we paid for the ambience.

Noodle Bar Jcube - 16Oct2016

There are many interesting eateries at level 2 of Jcube (Jurong East). One such eateries is Noodle Bar.

The menu ranged from western cuisine to ramen pasta and bento rice. The food was good and cheap. The serving was a good portion. The ramen pasta with bacon cost about 6.50SGD nett. The fish and chips was below 10SGD. There was no additional service charge and GST on top of the Nett price during billing. I loved the drinks on their drink list.

I might return to this Noodle Bar in the future.

SSPA Toa Payoh Swimming Complex - 30Oct2016

On 30Oct2016, Ah boy attended SSPA event at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex. His heats events are 50M breaststroke and 50M freestyle.

His unofficial results are shown below. He did well for breaststroke but not very well for his freestyle event.

His official results came out. He obtained SSPA certificate for 50M breaststroke. His coach told him to try again for March2017 50M freestyle since he did not make it this time. It would be sponsored by the swim school to encourage the swimmers.
